(NFL) – The New England Patriots are waiving seventh-round rookie receiver Tre Nixon.

If Nixon is not claimed he has a chance to be on the Patriot’s practice squad.

In 2020, Nixon caught 19 passes for 260 yards and two touchdowns. However, when Nixon was healthy in 2019, he caught 49 passes for 830 yards and seven touchdowns.

Nixon has been known for his big downfield threat and has great acceleration and speed that translates well for the NFL. Experts see Nixon potentially fitting in as an NFL slot wide receiver.

At 6-feet-2-inches tall and weighing in at 180-pounds, he also has size to go along with his speed.
