BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – The Cocoa Tigers are set to host the Treasure Coast Titans in prep football action Friday night on Space Coast Daily TV.

Kick-off at Dick Blake Stadium is set for 7 p.m.

The Tigers (2-1), are coming off a bye week and are currently ranked No. 14 in the state according to Max Preps.

Tiger head coach Ryan Schneider will look to get his team back on track after losing a close match against Venice before a bye week last Friday.

There will be some pressure to get senior quarterback Davin Wydner playing up to his potential as the season progresses.

The 3-star pro-style quarterback has thrown for 863 yards with a rating of 88.3. Although he’s completed 65% of his passes, he has more interceptions than touchdowns with four.

The Tiger defense, led by elite players Virgil Marshall, Cedric Hawkins and Samadrae Hawkins, will have their hands full in stopping one of the nation’s best running backs.

Treasure Coast heads into Dick Blake Stadium with a 3-0 record and the Titans have outscored their opponents 111-28 through three weeks.

The Titans finished last season with a 9-1 record and a second-round appearance in the 8A state playoffs.

All eyes will be on 3-star running back Eden James, son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Edgerrin James, who put up a career-best 267 yards and two touchdowns against American Heritage in week 1 – one of the top 10 perennial programs in the state. (Hudl image)
