By Space Coast Daily // September 22, 2021
Ecommerce is the large global shopping revolution that everyone is watching. To many of us, it seems there are a limited number of crossroads on the road to eCommerce success. Yet, new creative platforms are launched every day.
The eCommerce industry is attracting some of the best talent in the world. It appears that we are only at the beginning of changing the way we shop forever.
In many ways, platforms such as eBay and Amazon are starting to look very traditional. New innovative ideas and platforms spring up on an everyday basis. It makes you wonder if eBay and Amazon will continue to dominate the industry in the same way they are doing now.
Self Service Commerce – The New Normal
Ecommerce is springing up almost anywhere. When you travel you become more aware of the innovative solutions businesses are applying to cut down on costs and help them to streamline their businesses. I think I have already shared with you my recent dining out experience in Spain where I ordered my dinner using a tablet.
I had to admit that I was so impressed that I went back a couple of times during my stay. Of course, most of us are ordering are using take-out services that apply eCommerce when we order. We like to use them because they are easy and you get a lot of information on the site. No longer are you just looking at a boring menu. Often, the takeaway service promotes their products using tempting photos of their food.
In other words, the photos tempt us to buy more. A great way of using different eCommerce techniques.
We Want Frictionless Transactions
Maybe not all of us are ready to ditch the credit card just yet, but that little plastic card in your pocket may soon be a thing of the past.
Now, thanks to check out services such as Paypal, you can shop from the comfort of your own sofa. You don’t have to get up, go to the next room, and get your credit card. You can pay from your phone using a digital wallet in a matter of seconds.
The same revolution is happening in many stores, especially in Europe. Instead of getting your credit card out, all you have to do is to use your phone. In Amazon grocery stores, you don’t even have to do that. Smart cameras watch you shop and charge everything to your Amazon account.
Imagery is More Important Than Ever Before
Not only is our world becoming increasingly automated. As eCommerce is all about crossing borders, play an increasingly important part. You will probably know this yourself.
Just like me, you are probably being bombarded by images on daily basis. You only have to access your Facebook or other social media account to realize what is going on. Marketing using social media plays a role in all industries today.
No longer do you have to visit an eCommerce site when you want to go shopping. As a matter of
fact, your smartphone, and social media account seem to know what you want to buy.
To tempt you in, online retailers use both video and still photography. The product hero shot is more important than ever before.
If you have not thought about it yourself, ask a woman. Leading skincare companies are really good at eCommerce marketing. They will set up a social media campaign using the most fantastic images of their products. Once you click on them, you will be tempted by one of their special offers.
The photos used have one thing in common – they are stunning. High-quality product photos are an essential part of eCommerce. It is imperative to use a Professional Product Photography Studio Often we make our minds up to buy a product based on imagery alone.
Lifestyle images are also a fantastic marketing tool. These days, most of us are searching for a particular lifestyle. It is important that the companies selling products can project our dream lifestyle in their images. To get help with getting the right images, you can always search for companies that provide product photography tips near you
What is the final verdict? Not only is it becoming easier for us to eCommerce to shop online. Ecommerce is entering the physical marketplace as well. It will not be long before it is an integral part of our lives.
Maybe one day in the not too distant future, we will be going shopping in stores that don’t have any physical stock. Instead of seeing and touching the products, you will want to buy, you will see an image of them. If you like what you see, all you will have to do is to order the product using your smartphone. Who knows? It may even be delivered to your home by drone.
One thing is for sure, eCommerce has an exciting future. Don’t stand by and watch it happen. Make it part of your business.
