Sheriff Ivey: I stand as the first and last line of defense for our citizens, their rights and their freedoms

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Early this morning, I was honored to stand with and speak to hundreds of “America’s Workforce,” who are being bullied and threatened with termination from employment at the Space Center and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station because they refuse to give up their freedoms and have been ordered to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
Throughout the pandemic, these proud men and women were labeled as “essential employees” who reported each and every day to work and who also in the middle of the pandemic, once again made American history when they returned Astronauts to space.
How does someone go from being “essential” in the middle of a pandemic to now being “expendable,” because of the same pandemic?
It’s simple…they are being bullied into taking the vaccine and if they exercise their God-given right to refuse, they will be terminated from employment and their abilities to provide for their family will be gone.
As Sheriff, I stand as the first and last line of defense for our citizens, their rights, and their freedoms!
When I first took office, I took an Oath to support, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States of America and in doing so, committed to our community that I would protect what I call the 3 C’s, our citizens, our cops, and our Constitution.
While I may have taken an Oath to stand up against government overreach and violations of our citizen’s rights, I stood there today not only as “Sheriff,” but as a proud American who was standing shoulder to shoulder with our citizens as we collectively said…”Enough is Enough!”
This vaccine mandate is not a political issue, in fact, this morning citizens from all different political affiliations and backgrounds stood together against this overreach that targets every citizen in our country.
Throughout the morning I spoke with those who had voluntarily taken the vaccine and those that had not for their own personal reasons, yet all of them were united together against the mandate that forces American citizens to be vaccinated or fired.
As a young man growing up my father always told me that “the only line drawn in the sand that matters, is the one you draw behind you that represents how far back you will step before sacrificing your principles and character.”
Well today, I was honored to stand with part of our great “American Workforce” as they drew the line in the sand behind them, showing the world that they are a united front against the overreach of the vaccine mandate, that if not addressed, will cost them their jobs.
