Rated as CMS Four-Star Health Plan

Medicare open enrollment began October 15, and Health First Health Plans is taking an opportunity to share some of the major strides it is taking in 2022. “As we enroll new members for 2022, we’ve never been more excited about the services we are able to offer our members – and the technology will greatly enhance the overall customer experience,” said CEO Matt Gerrell.

Heading into 2022, bolstered by a high CMS Star Rating, our local health insurer is adding Medicare Plan values, best-in-class technology and service.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Medicare open enrollment began October 15 and, naturally, many seniors across the U.S. will take this opportunity to review their Medicare Advantage and drug plan options between now and Dec. 7.

And while current enrollees who are already happy with their plans have nothing more to do in order to continue with their plan, Health First Health Plans is taking an opportunity to share some of the major strides it is taking as we head into 2022.

“It has been an honor to serve our members and our community as their trusted Health Plan since 1995. And as we enroll new members for 2022, we’ve never been more excited about the services we are able to offer our members – and the technology will greatly enhance the overall customer experience,” said Matt Gerrell, Health First Health Plans CEO.

Partnership with Oscar Health to Improve Services and Technology

Health First Health Plans and Oscar Health announced earlier this year that they are partnering to transform and improve the healthcare experience for members.

Together, the companies will combine the high-quality providers from Health First Health Plans with access to the best-in-class technology platform from Oscar – with many of these new services beginning in January.

“As part of this collaboration with Oscar, our Medicaid Advantage and Individual members will have access to advanced technology and tools, including a new member portal and phone app.

They will be able to use this platform to access their personalized Care Teams that support members every step of the way – from finding a doctor to navigating costs, along with plan information and benefits,” said Gerrell.

“Plus, the agreement with Oscar will enable Health First Health Plans to improve some behind-the-scenes technology advancements that will provide the best insurance plan possible.”

Recently Rated as CMS Four-Star Health Plan

With more than a quarter century in service, a strategic partnership that will deliver unmatched service and technology, and a wealth of value-added services, the proverbial bow on this package came earlier this month when the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released its 2022 ‘Star Ratings’ for Medicare Advantage (Medicare Part C) and Medicare Part D prescription drug plans.

Health First Health Plans received an outstanding Four-Star rating for its health/drug plan services.

“This rating underscores our commitment to ensuring our members have access to high-quality, affordable services that meet a wide array of our members health needs,” said Gerrell.

Star Ratings are released annually and reflect the experiences of people enrolled in Medicare Advantage and Part D prescription drug plans. Star Ratings are based on factors that include:

■ Feedback from members about the plan’s service and care
■ The number of members who left or stayed with the plan
■ The number of complaints Medicare got about the plan
■ Data from doctors and hospitals that work with the plan

“The next year will be our best ever, and we’re incredibly excited to offer our community an unmatchable experience. We remain steadfast in our goal and efforts to helping our members get healthy – and stay healthy, and we look forward to driving continued excellence for our Medicare and Individual Plan members in 2022 and beyond,” said Gerrell.
