Event organizers said this is an “anti-surf-contest surf contest where only soft-boards are allowed and anyone can participate. Minimal rules and maximum fun, just bring yourself and some friends. Boards and Wiiings provided.”

Both male and female surf enthusiasts of all levels from the Space Coast and throughout Florida are eligible to participate.

GLOBAL SURFING SENSATION

Marks, a global surfing sensation originally from Melbourne Beach who continues to get everything out of a wave, represented the United States in the Women’s Shortboard at the Tokyo Olympics last summer.

After turning pro at age 13, she has won more than 17 titles, including the 2016 ISA Under-16 Championship, and consecutive National Scholastic Surfing Association titles in 2014-2015.

By age 16, Marks’ career was already the stuff of surfing legends. At 11, this goofy-footed ‘tween was the youngest girl to make the USA Surf Team.

She is also the youngest female ever to surf in a World Surfing League Women’s Pro event. Marks is also the youngest inductee into the Space Coast Sports Hall of Fame, being inducted in 2016 at age 14.
