BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – The Cocoa Tigers (4-1) are set to host the Viera Hawks (4-1) in prep football action Friday evening on Space Coast Daily TV.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Dick Blake Stadium. Space Coast Daily’s Juan Rodriguez and Ron Lighthall will be on the call.

The Tigers look to defend home field after last week’s thrilling 19-15 win against Dr. Phillips in Orlando.

Senior running back O.J. Ross has been on an absolute tear this season averaging 115 yards a game and 14 touchdowns on the season.

Defensively Cocoa could look to make a statement early with all the talent on that side of the ball. Leading tackler (70) Samadrae Hawkins will be a name to look out for against a strong Viera rushing attack.

The Viera Hawks head into Cocoa after a close 39-31 victory over Harmony. Hawks have won their last four games and have scored 142 points during that stretch.

The Hawks’ offense has been efficient with quarterback CJ Simms at the helm who has 11 touchdowns with only 3 interceptions.

Eyes will be on 4-star Florida Gator commit Jamari Lyons and how he will be able to lead his defense against a high-caliber offense.
