Melbourne Independent Filmmakers Festival Set Dec. 2-4 at Premiere Theaters Oaks Stadium 10

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Melbourne Independent Filmmakers Festival (MIFF) is scheduled for December 2-4 at the Premiere Theaters Oaks Stadium 10 located at 1800 W. Hibiscus Boulevard in Melbourne.
MIFF has some unique programs planned, including opening the festival with the Todd Thompson film “Woman in Motion” about actress Nichelle Nichols (Lt. Uhura -Star Trek) and her unsung contribution to the space program.
This film also kicked off the prestigious Florida Film Festival and will give our community a chance to see it on the big screen.
The event will also feature comedian Lisa Corrao (Nickelodeon, Comedy Central) on Friday night as the guest host for the Comedy Program.
The MIFF’s theme for this year is “Merry ChristMIFF” and will kick off the Holidays with a bang with an international and horror program on Friday. Saturday morning will feature the work of local filmmakers.
The MIFF receives so many submissions from around the world but the promotion of Florida filmmakers is part of their mission.
The festivities will conclude with a red carpet reception, awards ceremony and VIP after-party featuring Rockstar Entertainment and country vocalist Chase Ryland at Hemingway’s.
Despite the stress the pandemic has put on everyone in the Brevard community, it is the hope of the MIFF organizers that they can bring some much-needed enjoyment to the community.
