National Weather Service in Melbourne to Host Tsunami Virtual Seminar Dec. 2

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Did you know that tsunamis can impact Florida? They have about the same likelihood as a Category 5 hurricane making landfall in any given year.
Join the US National Weather Service Melbourne Florida on Thursday, Dec. 2, 2 p.m. to 3: p.m. ET, for an exciting presentation on tsunamis and the risk along the Atlantic coast.
The National Weather Service in Melbourne, together with local TsunamiReady partners at the City of Indian Harbour Beach Police Department and Indian River County Emergency Management will host this seminar on tsunamis.
The special guest speaker will be Dave Snider, the Tsunami Warning Coordinator at the National Tsunami Warning Center in Palmer, Alaska.
