BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Friday Night Locker Room’s Orville Susong and Steve Wilson are ready to roll out the red carpet – and walking the carpet will be their newest intern – Karlie Lawrence.
Lawrence was born and raised in Brevard County and will join Susong and Wilson in early December. She will be covering sporting events, community events, non-profit events and much more.
“Karlie will be a natural fit with us. She is outgoing, loves her community, and is excited about promoting the good on the Space Coast. That is exactly what we are all about,” said Wilson.
A prime example of Lawrence’s love for her community occurred last January when she partnered with a local non-profit to help raise funds for Love Broke Through Ministries. The family fun event was attended by more than 200 people and raised approximately $5,000.
Lawrence, a 2021 graduate of Edgewood Jr./Sr. High School, was a dual-enrolled student and will graduate next month with her AA.
She is a well-rounded student, not only excelling in the classroom but also excelling on the tennis court, having played during her middle school and high school years.

Her doubles partner for every year was Claire Kunik, who, ironically, has the same birthday as Lawrence.
It is no surprise that she was a member of her high school district champion tennis team; she comes from a family of athletes. Her brother plays baseball, and her sister plays softball
While at Edgewood Jr./Sr. High School, Lawrence also took Television Production. According to her, she “absolutely loved it!”
Lawrence is heavily involved in her church, East Coast Christian Center, and has had the opportunity to speak to her youth group multiple times.
When asked about her decision to join FNLR, she said, “I am thrilled to have this opportunity and look forward to gaining as much knowledge about the broadcasting industry as possible while giving back to my incredible community.”
