Hundreds of Flights Continue to be Delayed, Canceled Across United States Following Holiday Weekend

Major airlines canceled over 1,000 flights on Sunday

(FOX BUSINESS) – Hundreds of flights in the U.S. have been canceled or delayed Monday after a weekend of travel issues throughout the country.

Flightaware reported that there have been 783 cancellations within, into, or out of the U.S. as of Monday morning, and about 453 flights are delayed. Major airlines canceled over 1,000 flights on Sunday, with some saying that the coronavirus omicron variant is causing staffing issues.

Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, American Airlines, JetBlue Airways, and Alaska Airlines all reported hundreds of canceled or delayed flights on Sunday.

JetBlue canceled 124 flights on Sunday, and delayed 384, while Alaska Airlines canceled 101 flights and delayed 233, according to Flight Aware.
