Cocoa Beach Man Arrested After Breaking Into Police Bicycle Impound to Steal Electric Bicycle

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – Cocoa Beach Police have arrested 47-year-old Jeremiah J. Tribbitt, of Cocoa Beach, on an arrest warrant for allegedly forcing his way into the Cocoa Beach Police Department’s secured bicycle impound and large property storage facility on Oct. 8, 2021 and stealing an electric bicycle.

Cocoa Beach Police investigators determined that Tribbitt allegedly cut through layers of fencing to gain access to the off-site, secured and video-surveilled impound, where he then stole an electric bicycle that police say was clearly marked as evidence with a yellow property tag attached to the bike.

Tribbitt was arrested and charged with Burglary, Grand Theft, Tampering with Evidence, and transported to the Brevard County jail.
