Titusville Man Shot Dead Inside Vehicle Near Knox McRae Drive and Jupiter Avenue

POLICE: shooting happened shortly after 8 p.m.

Officers responded to a report of shots being fired and a vehicle speeding in the area of Knox McRae Drive and Jupiter Avenue shortly after 8 p.m. on Sunday night, January 30.

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Titusville Police have launched a homicide investigation after a man was found shot dead inside a vehicle near Knox McRae Drive and Jupiter Avenue.

Police say they responded to a report of shots being fired and a vehicle speeding in the area of Knox McRae Drive and Jupiter Avenue shortly after 8 p.m. on Sunday night, January 30.

According to Titusville Police spokesperson Amy Matthews, arriving officers found a vehicle at the north end of Jupiter Ave with a man found shot dead inside the vehicle.

“The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim suffered an apparent gunshot wound. A handgun, ammunition, and illegal drugs were found inside the vehicle,” said Matthews.

Titusville Police detectives are working on information that the victim was involved in a drug deal at the time of the shooting.

The identity of the victim will be released after his identity is confirmed.
