Smackdown Feuds Come to Miami

By  //  February 9, 2022

WWE are on the road to WrestleMania 38, and they return to Florida on March 4. That sees their Smackdown show being filmed at the FTX Arena in Miami, and you can bet it may well be a night of shocks and surprises.

WrestleMania is the biggest event that WWE hold and this year it’s in Texas on April 2 and 3. Smackdown coming to Miami on March 4 will be an exciting night for sure. It looks as if two of the biggest matches on the card will come from the Smackdown brand.

Sportsbooks will be offering plenty of odds on the matches. If you are looking to join a site then claiming the bet365 bonus is a great move to make.

WWE were in Florida right at the end of last year. Now they return but can we therefore expect in Miami on the first Friday of March? Those of you who love watching women’s wrestling are going to be in for a treat. We already know that at WrestleMania, Charlotte Flair will be defending her Smackdown Women’s title against none other than Ronda Rousey.

Rousey made her name in MMA but retired in 2016 after two dramatic defeats. The American had made an appearance at WrestleMania 31 in 2015. With her MMA career over, the odds on her making regular appearances for WWE were rather short.

Betting on WWE is becoming increasingly popular. If looking for a new sportsbook to register with, claiming the bet365 bonus is a great idea.

2017 saw those odds justified when a contract with WWE was signed. January 2018 saw her make a surprise appearance after the Women’s Royal Rumble. Asuka won that match and was in the ring with the two champions at the time, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. Then Rousey came to the ring to rather steal her thunder.

Rousey went on to win the Raw Women’s title at Summerslam that August. The former MMA fighter was made an overwhelming favorite by sportsbooks, and she easily beat Alexa Bliss.

At WrestleMania 35, Rousey took on Becky Lynch and Smackdown Women’s champion Charlotte Flair. It was the main event; the first time a women’s match had been at that level at the biggest show of the year. Lynch won the match in a controversial finish and Rousey lost her title.

That was the last time we’d see her in a WWE ring before her return at the Royal Rumble this January. Rousey had left to start a family and gave birth to a daughter last September. When word got out that her comeback was imminent, sportsbooks made her the favorite to win the Rumble and that’s just what she did.

It’s been confirmed now that Rousey will challenge Flair for the Smackdown Women’s title at WrestleMania 38. Both are scheduled to be in Miami in March and the odds are that there will be a heated confrontation between the pair.

The same is likely with Roman Reigns, the current WWE Universal Champion. It was in Orlando, Florida that he won the title at the ‘Payback’ event held in August 2020. He upset the odds to beat ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman (both no longer with the company) and has held the belt ever since.

Reigns has been involved in many feuds since becoming the Universal Champion. One of the most heated ones has been with Brock Lesnar. It’s a rather lengthy feud and you can bet that there are going to be a few more twists and turns in the coming months.

Lesnar challenged Reigns for the Universal title last year. Some sportsbooks thought he’d beat the odds and win the belt. However, Paul Heyman interfered in the match, and it was Reigns who kept his title.

The feud continued and Heyman even swapped sides after being sacked by Reigns. January 1 was due to see the pair meet at the ‘Day One’ event, but the champion had to pull out after getting Covid-19.

Those betting on Lesnar to beat Reigns, suddenly found him in a match for the WWE title. Anyone placing a bet on him dethroning Big E. were on a winner. There was talk of a title v title match between Reigns and Lesnar at WrestleMania.

Then at the Royal Rumble, Paul Heyman again swapped sides and helped Reigns to attack Lesnar, who was defending his title against Bobby Lashley at the time. That cost him the belt, but he went on to win the Royal Rumble and again has Reigns in his sights.

Reigns defends his title against Goldberg on February 19. Lesnar attempts to regain the WWE title in an Elimination Chamber match on the same show. Whatever happens there, you can bet there will be serious repercussions on future Smackdown shows including the one in Miami.
