Titusville Police Arrest Two Women for Stealing High-Dollar Merchandise From Ulta Beauty Retail Stores

Titusville Police have arrested Janautica Shaniqua Taylor (left), 22, of West Palm Beach and Claire Sylvie Francois (right), 23, of West Palm Beach, who were suspected of stealing high-dollar merchandise from Ulta Beauty retail stores in Titusville and Viera.

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Titusville Police have arrested two women who were suspected of stealing high-dollar merchandise from Ulta Beauty retail stores in Titusville and Viera.

According to Titusville Police spokesperson Amy Matthews, the preliminary investigation revealed that Titusville Police were alerted at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Friday, February 4, to a report of two adult female shoppers matching the descriptions of two suspects, who had just left an Ulta Beauty store in Viera with merchandise that had not been paid for and were in progress of committing the exact same crime at Titusville Ulta Beauty store, located at 2340 South Washington Avenue.

“Within ten minutes of the initial call for service, police had the two retail burglary suspects, who were attempting to steal thousands of dollars’ worth of merchandise, in custody,” said Matthews.

Claire Sylvie Francois, 23, of West Palm Beach, was arrested and charged with two Felony counts of Grand Theft and two counts of Retail Theft.

Janautica Shaniqua Taylor, 22, of West Palm Beach, was arrested and charged with Felony Grand Theft.

Francois and Taylor have been booked into the Brevard County Jail.

“This was great teamwork between both law enforcement and our business community,” said Titusville Police Chief John Lau.

“This type of snatch and grab crime will not be tolerated in Titusville.”

Based on investigative evidence, Titusville Police detectives believe this incident is connected to a multi-jurisdictional retail crime ring in-and-around the state of Florida.

Titusville Police Detectives are following up on all leads and this remains an active ongoing investigation.
