Titusville Man Shot, Killed in Street at Tropic Street and Dummit Avenue, Detectives Investigating

A Titusville man was shot and killed near the intersection of Tropic Street and Dummit Avenue on Sunday evening, according to the Titusville police officials. Titusville police detectives are investigating the shooting that happened at approximately 6:15 p.m. when officers responded to a report of shots fired.

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – A Titusville man was shot and killed near the intersection of Tropic Street and Dummit Avenue on Sunday evening, according to the Titusville police officials.

Titusville police detectives are investigating the shooting that happened at approximately 6:15 p.m. when officers responded to a report of shots fired.

“Officers secured the crime scene and located the adult male victim with an apparent gunshot wound lying in the roadway,” said Titusville police spokesperson Amy Matthews.

The unknown suspect(s) fled the scene and are still at large.

Matthews said the victim, whose identity has not yet been released, was transported to the hospital and succumbed to his injuries at approximately 7 p.m.

There were no other injuries.

Preliminary evidence revealed this incident was not random and detectives are working all leads, and are asking that anyone with information is urged to contact police at 321-264-7800 or can remain anonymous and they be eligible for a reward of up to $5,000 by contacting Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS.
