WATCH: Brevard Public Schools Board trades tour takes a trip to Palm Bay Magnet High School to learn more about their Firefighting CTE class, Criminal Justice class, and Robotics program. Palm Bay’s Robotics instructor Deuel Allen showed their robots in action and explains what students learn from the course. Criminal Justice instructor Ron Lugo explains what knowledge students will leave with after taking their course.
BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – School board members of Brevard Public Schools took a trip to Palm Bay Magnet High School for a Trades Tour to learn more about their Firefighting CTE class, Criminal Justice class, and Robotics program.
The BPS Trades Tour will also include dates to highlight all remaining high schools in Brevard Public Schools in the coming weeks.
The Trades Tours have been a recent success amongst parents, students and members of the community as it highlights some of the unique opportunities students have inside BPS to build certain skills as they prepare to enter the workforce and/or enter continue their education at the next level.
Last month, via Space Coast Daily TV, more than 10,000 viewers watched students engage in welding, tuning cars, calibrating boat motors, and even working on aircraft jets.
The trades tour on Thursday was led by BPS Superintendent Dr. Mark Mullins who was very excited to see all of the programs that Palm Bay Magnet High School had to offer.
WATCH: Chester Bombriant, who was hired four days ago, and retired from Palm Bay Fire Department just weeks ago, showed Mullins, BPS staff, and Brevard business owners what Palm Bay’s brand new Firefighting CTE class will offer for students.
