BREVARD COUNTY • WEST MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The West Melbourne Police Department announced the recent passing of their retired K9 Boton on Friday.

K9 Boton joined the West Melbourne Police Department in 2012 and later retired in 2016.

K9 Boton thoroughly enjoyed his retirement with his former partner, Officer Patrick Kenny, and would still actively patrol to ensure the safety of his family and home.

“On Wednesday, March 23, at 10:42 p.m., K-9 Boton crossed the Rainbow Bridge with his partner by his side,” said West Melbourne police officials.

“Please keep Officer Kenny and his family in your thoughts as they grieve the loss of K-9 Boton.”
