BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA –  Cocoa City Council authorized city staff to negotiate the purchase of two additional parcels of land along Oleander Street in Cocoa Village to bring 73 additional parking spaces to the Cocoa Village area on Tuesday, April 12.

In late 2021, the City purchased four parcels along Oleander and began opening portions of that land for parking beginning early March 2022.

The addition of these two additional parcels will allow the City to prepare the total area to allow for additional village parking. Plans prepared show the addition of a total of 73 additional parking spaces and an area for stormwater retention.

The next step will be to bring plans before the Planning and Zoning board to clear portions of the land to allow for additional parking.

Each parcel on Oleander Street cost $65,000.

The full lot should be available for parking in the next few months.
