We’re so lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the country – Space Coast, Florida has so many picturesque sights and fun activities, but do most of us take advantage of what we have on our doorstep? It’s far too easy to fall into a routine and not get out and explore as much as we should! The next time you’ve got a weekend or a spare afternoon free, why not try one of our top 3 things to do in the Space Coast area?

#1 Kennedy Space Center

Arguably the main attraction of Space Coast, the Kennedy Space Center is a must-visit for anyone with even a passing interest in space. Now that the US is launching rockets again, there are plenty of chances to see one take-off!

There are lots of places to watch a launch, including along the US1 where you get a great view of the center from across the river. Hotels fill up fast around the launch days, so make sure to book plenty in advance if you want to see one from the comfort of your own room.

As well as watching rocket launches, the visitor center at Kennedy Space Center also offers attractions that everyone can enjoy. There are life-size mockups of past American spacecraft – including a space shuttle, there are astronaut simulators so you can feel what they feel during take-off, a large gift shop, and an iMax cinema. This hotspot is an educational but also fun and exciting trip for the whole family.

#2 The Canaveral National Seashore

Just to the north of the Kennedy Space Center, you have the Canaveral National Seashore. In fact, the shore is so close to the Center that you can actually see the launch towers! This shore is home to some of the most pristine beaches in the area and is a favorite amongst tourists and locals. There are three specific parts to this shoreline; Playalinda, Klondike, and Apollo.

Playalinda is the area that encompasses the southern beaches of the shore. This site offers some beautiful views to accompany the fantastic beaches – with this beach being a popular spot to watch rocket launches. While you do have to pay to enter, it’s a very clean and uncrowded beach with plenty of parking.

In the middle is Klondike beach, a 15-mile area of beach and coast, and is the only one of the three that cannot be reached by car. Instead, it can only be accessed by walking to it or by boat, so if you’re making the journey make sure you protect your skin and stay hydrated. Finally, we have Apollo, which makes up the northernmost part of the shore. This is the busiest part of the region as it does tend to fill up early. However, it is free to enter so if you’re looking for a cheaper if busier day out, this is the place to go.

#3 The Brevard Zoo

Who doesn’t love a good zoo? While Brevard Zoo might not be a particularly big zoo, it makes up for it with its quality, having recently been voted the 8th best in the country by US News Magazine. There are over 900 animals to see with unique ways to travel through the exhibits; including a train ride and kayaking!

Everyone loves the chance to get up close and personal with animals from all over the world; like African giraffes, Australian kangaroos, or Middle Eastern camels! We can see this by how many things in our lives are animal-themed, whether it’s our clothes, our food, or our entertainment. Entertainment has long been animal-themed and one example is in online casinos; with a number of slots and table games having an animal theme to entice players to play them over their competitors.

These sites try various things to get players to choose their site over others, like hosting games with extravagant themes or offering generous welcome bonuses.

The best online casinos all over the world in places like the US and the Middle East are now offering players the chance to play live dealer games on their site, so they can get an immersive casino experience from their living room. If you’re a fan of animal entertainment, no matter the medium, Brevard Zoo is a must-see!

There are many more attractions we could put here if we were doing a top 10 or a top 20, but if you’ve only got a short amount of time these are the places you’ll not regret visiting!
