BREVARD COUNTY • SUNTREE, FLORIDA – Organ recitals at Yale, choral composition premiers in Philadelphia it’s all part of a day in the life of Ethan Haman, this year’s Rising Star performer for the Advent Lutheran Church Concert Series.

The Fremont, California native will be the featured performer in the Rising Star pipe organ concert at 7550 N. Wickham Road in Suntree on Sunday, April 24 at 3 p.m.

The 24-year-old Haman will play the A.E. Schlueter organ of 2,196 pipes during a program that features not only his proficiency at the keyboard but his skill at composition and improvisation.

The pipe organ recital will include the works of composer giants from the Baroque and Romantic eras, as well as music from 20th Century musicians.

Included among the latter is Haman’s original composition, a prelude, and fugue in the baroque style: “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing.”

A portion of the program will be reserved for the on-the-spot composition of a four-movement symphony, based on verbal submissions from the audience.

The Improvised Symphony on Submitted Themes is a consistent favorite among audiences for the organist, born in 1997.

Ethan Haman, Rising Star, will present a free pipe organ concert at Advent Lutheran Church in Suntree on April 24.

In addition to his post-graduate music studies at Yale, Ethan maintains a YouTube channel of his organ performances and improvisations and also enjoys the study of foreign languages.

He currently speaks English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Cantonese, Mandarin Chinese, and is learning German and Korean.

Choir director and organist for Advent Lutheran Church, Betty Jo Couch is pleased to name the Yale student as this season’s Rising Star.

“Ethan is an incredibly gifted young man, with a talent not only for performance but also composition and improvisation,” said Ms. Couch.

“He has already accomplished more at his young age than many people do in a lifetime. He is definitely going places in the world of music.”

The Rising Star recital concludes the 2021-22 performing season of the Advent Lutheran Church pipe organ concert series.
