BREVARD COUNTY • PORT CANAVERAL, FLORIDA – The Canaveral Port Authority is expecting boat trailer parking at Port Canaveral will be in high demand again during the 2022 Federal Atlantic Recreational Red Snapper Season, which opens at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, July 8 and closes at 12:01 a.m. on Sunday, July 10.

As always, boat trailer parking at the Port’s Freddie Patrick Park boat ramps and Rodney S. Ketcham Park boat ramps is free and open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis until capacity is reached.

Boaters – at all times – whether parking at these boat ramps or not — can access the ramps to launch their boat and seek parking elsewhere for their vehicle and trailer.

To promote safety and enjoyment for all, boaters are strongly advised to have a plan before arriving at Port Canaveral.

Electronic signs along George King Boulevard will advise arriving boaters if trailer parking at Freddie Patrick Park boat ramps is at capacity.

Once the lot is full, boaters will still be able to launch their boat in at Freddie Patrick Park boat ramps, however, they will need to seek parking elsewhere for their vehicle and trailer.

Boaters who drop their boat at any Port Canaveral boat ramp should ensure they have a capable operator on board their vessel to safely move and hold their vessel away from the boat ramp launching area while they seek parking for their vehicle and trailer.

In an effort to accommodate the anticipated parking demand at the Port’s boat ramps, the Canaveral Port Authority is once again offering free boat trailer parking on the front lawn of the Port’s Maritime Center, located at 445 Challenger Road in Cape Canaveral.

An electronic sign on George King Boulevard will direct boaters to the special event boat trailer parking entrance.

Please note that boaters who choose to park vehicles and trailers at the Maritime Center are responsible for their own transportation to and from the boat ramps.

Important Reminders about Port Canaveral Boat Ramps and Parking

Boat ramp parking is always free and available on a first-come, first-served basis. When the lot is full, it’s full and boaters will need to seek parking elsewhere for their vehicle and trailer.

Port Canaveral boat ramps are free and open 24/7, 365 days a year.

Boat ramps do not close. Boaters, whether parking at the ramps or not, can access the ramps to drop their boat and tackle and seek parking elsewhere for their vehicle and trailer.

Boaters who drop their boat at any Port Canaveral boat ramp should ensure they have a capable operator on board the vessel to safely move and hold the vessel away from the boat ramp launching area while they seek parking for their vehicle and trailer.

Please be aware that vehicles and trailers left in unauthorized areas may be towed at the owner’s expense
