BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The National Weather Service in Melbourne forecast for Thursday in Brevard County calls for a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 5 p.m. Skies will be partly sunny, with a high near 91.

The Heat index values will be as high as 106. with light east southeast winds becoming east 5 to 10 mph in the morning. The chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

■ Thursday Night: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 8 p.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 8pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 78. East southeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
■ Friday: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. High near 91. Heat index values as high as 106. Light south wind becoming east southeast 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 80%.
