Titusville Police Investigating Drowning Death of Female Child During Pool Party Saturday Afternoon

Incident occured at residence on the 2500 block of Christine Drive

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Titusville police officers are investigating the drowning death of a female child at a residence located on the 2500 block of Christine Drive on Saturday afternoon.

According to Titusville police spokesperson Amy Matthews, the preliminary investigation revealed the child accidentally drowned in the backyard pool, which was occupied by other party attendees at the time of the incident.

“An adult partygoer noticed a small child’s body on the bottom of the pool, pulled her out of the water and began life-saving measures,” said Matthews.

“Police and emergency medical services responded to the scene at approximately 2:25 p.m. The child was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased at 3:08 p.m.

This incident remains under investigation by the Titusville Police Department and further details will be released upon its conclusion by investigators.
