Eastern Florida State Women’s Basketball Improve to 8-0 After Defeating St. Thomas University

Titans will play No. 2-ranked Northwest Florida State College Friday at 2 p.m.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College women’s basketball team improved to 8-0 with a road victory on Sunday.

The Titans, who are ranked No. 11 in the latest NJCAA Division I poll, defeated the St. Thomas University JV team 100-31.

Sophomore L’or Eyeba Mputu had her best game of the season, scoring 19 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. It was the fourth double-double for the native of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Teammate Isimenme Ozzy-Momodu also recorded a double-double in the win, her second straight and fifth overall.

Ozzy-Momodu scored 15 points and had 13 rebounds as the Titans outrebounded St. Thomas University JV 66-21.

Shadaria Smith scored 17 points and Funmi Amode had her best offensive game for the Titans, finishing with 10 points. Smith has scored 10-plus points in the past six games.

Overall, 11 Titans scored in the game.

Eastern Florida State College will play in the JUCO Shootout at Daytona State College on Friday and Saturday.

The Titans will play No. 2-ranked Northwest Florida State College Friday at 2 p.m. and then will face No. 19 Florida Southwestern State College at noon on Saturday.
