The Industries Where Robots Are Having a Huge Impact
By Space Coast Daily // November 10, 2022

Robotics is a subject that has been keeping the whole human race hooked over countless decades regarding its usage in everyday work. We have been intrigued by its possibilities to even expand our knowledge base to gain new insights and information that can further develop and evolve the human race.
And also make our planet and our stay on it much better.
But did you know that robots are not the work of science fiction anymore? Because their usage and actual world application have already, and robotics have been applied in countless industries so far with great success.
These inanimate creations have made our processes faster and more efficient, thus helping us evolve at a much quicker rate. So, in this article, we take a look at some of the most industries where robotics have had a huge impact so far –
1. Space Exploration
Space is something that humans are not naturally equipped to function in. It also involves dealing with many dangers while being part of critical missions like soil sample collection and repairing the damages caused to the spaceship, for which one has to be outside in space.
That’s where robots come in to do stuff that doesn’t require much intelligence. Space stations are using robotics to help them with these scenarios and save human lives. These robots can also be autonomous that can travel on different planets and send pictures and data about their climate, rock formations, and other valuable information in real-time to the scientists on Earth in real-time for a deep study.
2. Agriculture
The backbone of modern civilization and an important industry for our survival on Earth, agriculture is another sector where robots can help out humans.
This seasonal industry has lots of tasks that robots can take care of, like seeding, controlling the weed, watering, taking care of the harvest, and many more, and can also do them at a much faster rate and with much more efficiency. They can also be powered by solar energy and use that energy in real-time.
3. Security
Working security always carries lots of different elements of danger. The factors that threaten any establishment also pose a risk to those working in security because they are humans. No matter how equipped they are, there’s always a chance of getting injured or losing their lives.
Robots are currently being highly considered in the security sector as they are better equipped to deal with crimes such as armed robbery, burglaries, domestic violence, public shooting, and many more. But, a human element to security is also required to make real-time judgment calls, and that is why pairing a robot with a human is considered to be the ideal solution moving forward.
4. Entertainment
Robotics has already become a big thing in the entertainment industry as extras that work behind the scenes to handle the camera during high-speed chases or in unimaginable positions provide various special effects for stunts and other applications.
They are also very useful in carrying out repetitive, mechanical tasks with much more efficiency. It is also being discovered whether they can be used to do some stunt work as well that might be extremely difficult for humans to carry out.
5. Underwater Exploration
A majority of the ocean bed is unexplored on the Earth, and humans have been finding ways to go deeper into the depths for ages. Exploring the ocean bed is very tricky because of various factors like water pressure and unexplored species and surprises deep in the ocean.
Underwater Robotics can come in handy in those scenarios as they can be controlled remotely and can go anywhere they are required to without much difficulty and with precision to collect samples and pictures.
6. HealthCare
One of the major transformations caused by robotics in a particular industry is the healthcare business. For example, surgeries require a lot of extreme technicalities to make sure no mistake is made because a literal human being’s life is at stake. And it does need the expertise and intelligence of a human brain for it to be executed.
But sometimes, some critical areas need to be reached, and human hands can come in the way of that. So, robots can handle it with precision with supervision by a doctor, of course. Or for something like fitting prosthetic limbs, robots are also very helpful.
7. Manufacturing
Manufacturing is also another sector robotics has taken over. They are extremely helpful in taking care of a huge load of precisely going through all the intricate process of getting all the parts of a product ready, then assembling them one by one in an efficient and precise manner and getting them out of the factory floor at a very fast rate as well.
They also save the manufacturers a lot of money as one robot can single-handedly take care of the workload of several human employees.
8. Food Industry
Surprisingly, robotics can also help in the preparation of food. For mass production of packaged foods, robotics has already been helping in preparing the food at various stages of creation and packaging them at the same time with much greater efficiency and at a much faster rate.
Interestingly, robots have also been programmed to cook food for you at home. They are given all the ingredients they’d need in advance, and they can identify all of them and their usage at various stages of preparation and cook you a home-cooked meal.
9. Military
The military is one industry where robotics has a multitude of uses. They are highly useful for surveillance purposes in very dangerous purposes and can also be silent because of the cameras. That helps them capture images and record footage from a very far distance.
They are also helpful on the front line as they are much more indestructible than human soldiers and more efficient because of their lack of emotions. They can laser-focus on their targets and get the job done in seconds. They are also helpful in military operations wherein the armed forces are required to provide aid and healthcare services to war-torn areas.
