30-Year-Old Cocoa Man Dies After Fatal Crash in Canaveral Groves, One Seriously Injured

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – A 30-year-old Cocoa man has died early this morning around 1:55 a.m. after a single vehicle crash on Pine Street and Coconut Avenue in Canaveral Groves.
Another 30-year-old Cocoa man was seriously injured, who was a passenger inside the vehicle.
According to the investigation by Cpl. Stanley of the Florida Highway Patrol, the 30-year-old Cocoa man who died in the crash was the driver of the 2017 GMC Sierra when he failed to negotiate a curve and ended up going airborne, before striking a ditch.
The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.
The passenger, a 30-year-old Cocoa man, was transported to Rockledge Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
The identity of the driver and passenger will not be released due to law passed by the State of Florida, which protects the identity of those involved in a crash in a FHP crash investigation.
