BREVARD COUNTY • CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA – The City of Cape Canaveral announced that the town had received the East Central Florida Regional Planning Council Diamond Award for Health and Equity.

This award honors the region’s most iconic urban planning and development projects, promoting intelligent growth practices highlighting equity, healthy neighborhoods, conservation, and economic vitality.

The ECFRPC was established in 1962 as an area-wide association of governments.

This Council is represented by 32 Council Members and skilled staff that provide technical assistance to governments and organizations within the region of 8 counties and 78 towns and cities, including the City of Cape Canaveral.

As part of ECFRPC’s 60th anniversary, the Diamond Awards were re-instituted to highlight the best in urban planning, sustainability programs, and resiliency projects across our region. (City of Cape Canaveral image)
