Eastern Florida State College Women’s Tennis Team Opens Season with Victory

Titans, are 1-0 on the season, will host Atlantis University on Saturday

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College women’s tennis team blanked Gustavus Adolphus in the home opener Tuesday morning.

The Titans improved to 1-0 with the 9-0 victory at Titan Tennis Center.

The team swept the doubles matches as the duo of Simona Karlsson Hantzis and Helena Jokanovic teamed up to win 8-3 in No. 1 doubles.

The No. 2 doubles team of Emma Sanchez and Glorida Barcaro won 8-3 and Paige Noble Lucas and Lucia Lucas Martinez teamed up for the 8-1 win in doubles.

Sanchez picked up the 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles while Karlsson won the second singles 6-1, 6-1. Barcaro won at No. 3, 6-1, 6-0 while Martinez won 6-2, 6-0. Jokanovic won at No. 5 singles 6-2, 6-3 and Luisa Renovales won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 6.

The Titans, who are 1-0 on the season, will host Atlantis University at 9 a.m. Saturday at Titan Tennis Center. Admission is free to matches on the Melbourne campus.
