Eastern Florida State’s Mirkovic, Santacruz Named to FCSAA Division I Championship All-Tournament Team

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – A pair of Eastern Florida State College women’s basketball players were named to the FCSAA Division I Championship All-Tournament Team on Saturday.

Angela Mirkovic and Shadia Lara Santacruz each had big performances for the Titans and were honored after Gulf Coast State College won the championship game.

Santacruz averaged 16.5 points, seven rebounds and four assists in the two games. The sophomore also had four steals and came into the tournament second in the state in steals this season with 72.

Against Gulf Coast State College, Santacruz scored 12 of her 20 points in the fourth quarter as the guard tried to get the Titans back into the game.

Mirkovic averaged 13.5 points and three rebounds in the two games. In the Titans win over No. 1 seed Northwest Florida State College the freshman had four 3-pointers including a couple of big shots to keep the Titans in the lead.

It is the second straight season that two Titans have been named to the all-tournament team and ninth straight year a member of the Titans have been named to the team.

It is the third straight season that the Titans season has ended in the semifinals of the FCSAA Division I Championships.
