Eastern Florida State College Men’s Golf Team Places Eighth at Shark Invitational

Titans wrap up the regular season Monday

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College men’s golf team finished the Shark Invitational in eighth place in Fort Lauderdale.

The Titans shot a 291 in the final round of the tournament on Tuesday.

“We just never got it going today,” Eastern Florida State College men’s golf coach Jamie Howell said. “A good round by Danny (Byers) but we need more good rounds strung together. It was a good tournament competition wise.”

Daniel Byers finished with a 1-under 70 in the final round, shooting 1-under on the front nine and even par on the back nine. Byers tied for 34th place overall.

Jamie Smith shot a 1-over 72 in the final round and finished tied for 16th place overall while teammate Sean Jacoby finished with a 75 and tied for 44th.

Nolan Hyatt shot a 74 and Josh Bibby shot a 76.

Florida Southern shot a 277 in the final round to beat host Nova Southeastern for the title. Florida Southern’s Colton Swartz shot a 69 on Tuesday and finished the tournament 11-under to win the medalist title.

Eastern Florida State College will wrap up the regular season at the Barry Buccaneer Invitational beginning next Monday.
