Eastern Florida State Women’s Basketball Remains Perfect in Conference Play with Win Over Santa Fe College

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College women’s basketball team defeated Santa Fe College on the road to sweep the season series on Wednesday night.

The second-ranked Titans improved to 25-1 overall and 9-0 in the Central Conference with the 86-58 victory.

Five Titans scored in double figures led by L’or Eyeba Mputu who had 18 points. Madlena Irena Gerke scored a career high 15 points off the bench. Leilani Guion finished with 14 points and Isimenme Ozzy-Momodu had another double-double, scoring 10 points and had 10 rebounds. It is the 11th double-double of the season for Ozzy-Momodu.

In the first quarter, the Titan’s defense dominated, holding Santa Fe to seven points in the first quarter. After a slow start Eastern Florida State College got things going offensively and led by 11 points after one quarter.

The Titans would outscore the Saints 25-10 in the second quarter and led 43-17 at halftime.

Malea Brown had 11 of the 17 points in the first half and finished with 22 points.

The Titans, who have won nine straight games, will be back at Titan Field House Saturday afternoon for a conference game against Daytona State College for a 2 p.m. tip-off.
