BCSO: only agency in the country with all unit members ranking in the Top 50

Each year the United States Secret Service’s National Computer Forensics Institute (NCFI) recognizes its Top 50 state and local law enforcement Digital Forensic Examiners for their productivity, and amount of data extracted and analyzed, in cases dealing with cyber crimes, child pornography cases, fraud investigations, and any other crimes that target our citizens. BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Each year the United States Secret Service’s National Computer Forensics Institute (NCFI) recognizes its Top 50 state and local law enforcement Digital Forensic Examiners for their productivity, and amount of data extracted and analyzed, in cases dealing with cyber crimes, child pornography cases, fraud investigations, and any other crimes that target our citizens.

Last week, I joined United States Secret Service Deputy Assistant Director Jason Kane, of the Criminal Investigative Division, and Special Agent In Charge Caroline O’Brien-Buster, as they honored three members of our Digital Forensics Unit with this very prestigious award.

In addition to the awards, Director Kane further announced that the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is the only agency in the country with all of it’s unit members ranking in the Top 50 Examiners for 2022.

In the entire country there are approximately 2,200 Digital Forensic Examiners who are part of the NCFI and qualify for this award and of those, all three members of our Digital Forensic Unit rank in the top 50 in the country.

I could not be more proud of Agent Mary Adams, Agent Reggie Hammond, and Agent Joseph Bracey, on all of their exceptional work with some of the most difficult cases that any law enforcement officer has to face.

Please join me in congratulating them and in thanking them for their amazing commitment to helping protect our citizens.
