Titans come into the tournament 28-1 overall, 12-0 in the Central Conference

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – For the first time in program history, the Eastern Florida State College women’s basketball team is the No. 1 seed for the FCSAA/NJCAA Region VIII Women’s Basketball Championships.

The Titans come into the tournament 28-1 overall and went 12-0 in the Central Conference.

They have been No. 1 in the NJCAA Region 8 Coaches Poll for the past three weeks.

Eastern Florida State College will open the Region VIII Tournament against No. 8 seed Santa Fe College on Wednesday, March 8, at 7 p.m. EDT at Northwest Florida State College in Niceville, Florida.

The Titans are in the state tournament for the sixth straight year and have beaten Santa Fe in all three meetings this season.

No. 2 seed Northwest Florida State College will play No. 7 Chipola in the first game of the tournament, beginning at 2 p.m. EDT. No. 3 seed Gulf Coast will face No. 6 seed Florida Southwestern in the second game of the day.

No. 4 seed Indian River State College will play No. 5 seed St. Petersburg College in the final game of the day at 9 p.m. EDT.

Tickets to the tournament are $35 for a four-day pass or $10 per session. You can also watch the games live online via Emerald Coast TV.
