Eastern Florida State’s Elli Garnett, Ozzy-Momodu Named to NJCAA Division I All-Tournament Team

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College women’s basketball players Isimenme Ozzy-Momodu and Elli Garnett were named to the NJCAA Division I All-Tournament Team.

The duo helped the Titans to their first semifinal appearance.

Ozzy-Momodu, a forward from London, England, averaged a double-double in the three games.

The freshman averaged 15.6 points, 12.3 rebounds, and three blocked shots and finished up her first season with the Titans averaging 10.6 points and 9.5 rebounds off the bench. She finished with 317 points and 285 rebounds in 30 games.

The 285 rebounds are the sixth-most in the past 20 years for a women’s basketball player.

Her 14 double-doubles this season were third-best in program history and the 71 blocks were the most by a Titans player in the past 20 seasons.

Ozzy-Momodu had her best game in the win over Wabash Valley to advance to the semifinals, scoring a season-high 24 points and grabbing a season-high 18 rebounds. She also had an assist, two steals, and three blocks in the game.

Garnett, a guard from Golden, Colorado, averaged 15 points, six rebounds, and four assists over the three games and finished the season averaging 8.3 points and 5.5 rebounds per game in 34 games.

She finished the season with 283 points, 187 rebounds and 121 assists.

Garnett had her best game in the semifinal game against Trinity Valley Community College, scoring a season-high 28 points and 10 rebounds for her two double-doubles of the season, both coming during the Titan’s postseason run.

The Titans finished the season 33-2, which is a program record, and won the Region VIII championship for the first time in school history.

Ozzy-Momodu and Garnett become just the second and third players to be named to the national tournament all-tournament team.
