BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – It is National Nutrition Month, which is held annually in March, and focuses attention on the importance of making informed food choices and developing sound eating and physical activity habits. Health First’s Lead Clinical Dietitian, Rachelle Baker, discusses how you can make the right choices.

National Nutrition Month is an annual campaign created 50 years ago in 1973, by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. During the month of March, everyone is invited to learn about making informed food choices and developing healthy eating and physical activity habits.

National Nutrition Month is a nutrition education and information campaign sponsored annually by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. The campaign is designed to focus attention on the importance of making informed food choices and developing sound eating and physical activity habits. National Nutrition Month also promotes the Academy and its members to the public and the media as the most valuable and credible source of timely, scientifically based food and nutrition information.

Choose My Plate.gov to track your diet and physical activity; learn more about the different food groups; print out nutrition tips to post on your refrigerator; and much more.
