BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Central Catholic announced the hiring of Kyle Schmitt to serve as the next School Principal starting in July.

Melbourne Central Catholic’s interim principal released the following statement regarding the hiring of Principal Schmitt:

Dear Members of the MCC Family, On behalf of the MCC Principal Search Committee, I’m happy to announce the appointment of Kyle Schmitt as our next Principal, effective July 1, 2023.

Mr. Schmitt comes to MCC with six years of experience as a school administrator, one as Vice-Principal at Most Blessed Trinity Academy in Waukegan, IL, four as Principal at St. Francis de Sales School in Lake Zurich, IL, and most recently as President at Notre Dame High School in Chattanooga, TN.

He earned his Ed.S. in Administration and Supervision and his M.A.T. in Secondary Social Science from National Louis University, his M.A.ED. in Curriculum and Instruction from Ashford University, and his B.A. in Psychology and Philosophy from The University of Chicago.

“I’m excited to join the Hustler community,” Schmitt said.

“It’s clear MCC focuses on the needs of the whole child —physical, spiritual, emotional, cognitive, and behavioral — qualities I embrace. I look forward to continuing to prepare our students for college, career, and more for life. We are raising disciples of Christ!”

As Principal, Schmitt will work collaboratively and manage day-to-day school operations, including curricular and co-curricular programming, faculty selection and evaluation, and compliance with accreditation requirements.

“I look forward to partnering with our staff and families to support the next generation of Hustlers,” Schmitt added. “We are all stewards of the MCC mission.”

Schmitt, his wife Anelia, and their four children live in Chattanooga, TN, and in the coming weeks, MCC will announce plans to introduce Schmitt to the Brevard community.
