Bayside High School's culinary program battled 40 other schools across Florida

WATCH: Bayside High School’s Culinary Arts is a true-to-life-based program that is designed to introduce the basic fundamentals, discipline and skills required for a successful career in the foodservice industry.

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Bayside High School’s culinary program battled 40 other schools across Florida in the Edible Centerpiece Competition and Mikayla Daily won the Most Unique Centerpiece and second place overall.

Bayside High School’s Culinary Arts is a true-to-life-based program that is designed to introduce the basic fundamentals, discipline and skills required for a successful career in the foodservice industry.

Students acquire knowledge and skills in the preparation of food. Included are basic principles and techniques of food preparation, use of recipes, and use and care of equipment.

The purpose of this program is to prepare students for employment in the hospitality, tourism or restaurant industry.

In addition to culinary, Brevard Public Schools offers over 40 Career and Technical Education programs ranging from HVAC to Hospitality Management. These programs help place students directly into their specific job areas.
