BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – A Cocoa Police arrested a suspect in 2021 for sex crimes against a child was found guilty of more than 60 felony counts involving child pornography and other sex crimes against a child.

Temron Juwan McFarlane, 27, was convicted of multiple counts each of possession of child pornography, use of a child in a sexual performance, promoting sexual performance by a child, lewd or lascivious molestation, human trafficking, and interference with custody.

Upon completion of his prison sentence, McFarlane will serve another 10-years of probation and be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

On January 12, 2021, Detectives with the Cocoa Police Department responded to the Budget Inn at 4150 W. King St., Cocoa in reference to locating a missing/runaway female juvenile from Palm Bay.

Officers located the juvenile female outside the hotel. She was in the company of an older male, later identified as McFarlane.

Further investigation revealed McFarlane was involved in human trafficking and exploitation of the underage girl.

He was also found to be in possession of multiple images and video depicting child pornography.

“Unfortunately, this kind of activity is more common that people realize,” said Detective Chris Zuniga.

“There have been cases of children looking for attention through social media and trying to gain that attention from older adults that they shouldn’t be speaking with. Parents and guardians need to be aware of the actions of their teenagers and children.”

As a result of the convictions, McFarlane will be a registered sex offender for life.
