The Public Safety Institute at Eastern Florida State College is actively recruiting for its upcoming Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedic programs.
The deadline for applications is June 11, 2023. Intake for Paramedic and EMT programs is scheduled for June 20, both are by invitation.
Classes will begin on August 15 and run for 16 weeks through the Fall.

All prospective students must complete the online application for admission to Eastern Florida State College, as well as the separate online application to the Public Safety Institute.
The EMT program is designed to train individuals for entry-level positions in emergency medical and first responder services.
Graduates can also gain certification that will allow them to continue their education in fire service or paramedics. The Paramedic program is designed to help students complete their EMS education by securing a State of Florida Paramedic certificate.
The Paramedic certified personnel can then declare their major in order to finish an Associate
Degree in EMS.
A Paramedic is a health professional who has had advanced training in Emergency Medical Technology and can administer life-saving and life-supporting procedures on indication and under the supervision of a physician or authorized party in person or via voice communication.
Upon successful completion of the program, students earn a College Credit Certificate in pre-hospital advanced life support. Students are also eligible to take the Florida Paramedic State Boards.
