Florida Tech Softball’s Cheyenne Nelson, Jolie Miracle Earn All-Sunshine State Conference Honors

Nelson tallies her third straight All-SSC First Team honors
BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Florida Tech softball team tallied two All-Sunshine State Conference selections, announced by the SSC office on Monday.
Cheyenne Nelson earned first-team accolades, while Jolie Miracle was selected for the second-team and defensive team.
Nelson tallies her third straight All-SSC First Team honors, and her fifth selection overall, after leading the Panthers with a .401 average in 147 at-bats. She finished the season with 59 hits, six doubles, one home run, 19 RBI, 29 runs scored, and 16 stolen bases.
The center fielder recorded 77 putouts and just two errors for a .988 fielding percentage. Nelson ranks among the top 10 in the SSC in batting average and hits.
Miracle picks up her second and third All-SSC honors after an impressive season behind the plate and at the plate. Offensively, she posted a .315 average in 149 at-bats.
Miracle finished her season with 47 hits, 10 doubles, 26 RBI, one home run, and 17 runs scored. She is 5th in the SSC in doubles.
The Tampa, Florida native recorded 157 putouts, second most on the team with 44 assists.
Earlier this season, Miracle broke the program record for most runners caught stealing in a single season at 22. She currently leads the SSC in caught stealing.
