Florida Tech Softball Player Cheyenne Nelson Named to D2CCA and NFCA All-South Region Teams

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The post-season awards continue to roll in for Cheyenne Nelson as she has been named to the DII Conference Commissioners Association All-South Region Second Team and the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Region Second Team, announced Wednesday.
The Snohomish, Wash. native, who is now a two-time D2CCA All-South Region and NFCA All-Region performer, was the Second Team outfielder, and hit .372 (61-164) to lead the Panthers in 2022.
Nelson tied for second on the team for extra-base hits with 15, 13 doubles, and two home runs, along with tallying 32 RBI while going 15-18 on stolen bases.
The centerfielder racked up 95 putouts with four assists and only one error for an impressive .990 fielding percentage. Nelson ranks among the top-10 in the SSC in 10 different categories.
Previously this week, she was named to the All-Sunshine State Conference First Team.
The D2CCA South Region Team is voted on by sports information directors from schools in the Gulf South Conference, the Sunshine State Conference, and the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
NFCA All-Region players are nominated and selected by NFCA member coaches in each respective region.
