BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard Republican Executive Committee District 4 Chair Xiaoqi Wang was honored as BREC’s 2023 Republican of the Year during the organization’s Lincoln–Reagan Dinner held Saturday, June 17, at the Melbourne Hilton Rialto.
“I am honored and humbled to be named BREC’s Republican of the Year,” said Wang.
“But I could not have achieved that honor without the support and guidance of our Republican Party leadership and my fellow District 4 committee members who work so hard to advance republican causes. I love my BREC family, and it is so rewarding to see our hard work pay off at the polls.”
Wang grew up in Beijing China and her life journey began upon graduating from college in 1989, the year of protest in Tiananmen Square, and many were questioning what their future would look like.
“Later, while holding my infant daughter in my arms thoughts of immigration were never far from my mind, as a young mother I wanted more than one child, an impossibility at the time,” said Wang.
“In 1998, my work took me to Canada, and in 2002, the year my son was born, my daughter and I were granted Canadian citizenship. We later moved to the U.S., and my family and I were granted U.S. Citizenship in 2019. Before retiring to raise my children, I worked in sales and management for a Chinese–U.S. computer company in China and Canada.
“It was a joint venture with Digital Equipment Corporation which was later bought by Compaq and then HP, then HP sold the share back to Chinese counterpart. During my time career, I witnessed first-hand American globalist’s efforts to modernize China,” said Wang.
Wang holds a Computer Science degree and an MBA, and her husband Chip is an appellate attorney. She said her husband and his family are “Crackers,” having lived in Florida for more than 160 years.
“My daughter graduated from University of Florida and is a senior analysist with Citi Bank in Manhattan,” said Wang. “My son is a finance major and a rising senior at University of Florida and hopes to follow in his sister’s footsteps.”
Wang and her husband bought a home in Indian River Colony Club many years ago to be close to Chip’s 93-year-old mother, and they moved to Brevard permanently after the 2020 election.

“When I first moved to the U.S., I was not interested in politics,” said Wang. “That changed on March 13, 2016, when I attended a Trump Rally in Boca Raton. Since then, I have worked pretty much full time for Republican causes.”
While living in Palm Beach County, Wang was a member of the Republican Executive Committee, the Committee’s Asian Outreach Chair, and appointed Alternate Delegate to the 2020 Republican Convention.
Upon moving to Brevard County, she joined BREC and was elected District 4 Chair, and continue to work full time for Republican causes.
“I believe that the local Republican Party Executive Committees are the grassroots of the Republican Party and that the Executive Committee’s should focus on Getting Out The Vote and the hard work necessary to getting candidates elected: knocking on doors, making phone calls, registering Republican voters, encouraging people vote, and looking for and encouraging good Republicans, people that the voters can support, to run for office,” said Wang.
“I am worried that should the Republicans not take the reins of government soon, I fear that our country’s free-fall into socialism is all but inevitable. Having experienced the uncertainty, corruption and suppression of socialism, I treasure the freedom, safety and opportunity this great country has given my family, and I do not want my children and grandchildren to lose protections.
“My life is guided by a few basic principles, be proud, be positive, be focused and do the right thing, for the right reason. If we follow these simple principals, I believe that the United States of America will continue to be the greatest Republic in the history of Mankind,” said Wang.
