BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Space Coast Daily’s Giles Malone has reviewed dozens of Brevard County restaurants and says Longhorn Steak House, located at 770 E. Merritt Island Causeway on Merritt Island, “has always satisfied that steak craving, despite being “just a franchise.”

Malone went on to say:

I’m sure some of you might cry out as you initially read this, but hold your horses and hear me out before you cast me down to the depths of editorial disgrace. And it’s not just me because I always seem to see a friend in there with the same feeling.

The last time it was my good friends Tom and Suzie Wasdin and company – and there always seems to be a friend in sight at Longhorn Steakhouse, Merritt Island, on Florida’s Space Coast.

The staff is always friendly, professional, and attentive to us, and my 6 oz. medium-grilled sirloin steak seems to be delicious every time I choose it. I also go with the fully loaded baked potato, sautéed mushrooms, asparagus, and a nice crisp, fresh salad with blue cheese dressing, which always hits the spot for me. And a nice cold beer from Carroll Distributing always joins my succulent feast.

I know we usually review independent restaurants, but you know what, the staff and operators of this franchise live and go to work every day on the Space Coast, too, so why leave them out? They also employ lots of locals. They buy lots of local items and pay their taxes, just like independent restaurants do. And we love them all.
