Friday Night Locker Room's Steve Wilson Covers Day 2 of the Conference

WATCH: DAY 2 – The Astronauts Memorial Foundation Executive Director/CEO Thad Altman sat down with the Friday Night Locker Room’s Steve Wilson on Day Two of the 2023 Space Port Area Conference for Educators. Altman talks about the importance of the Foundation, the conference, and much more in this exclusive interview. Wilson was on hand to provide coverage of the conference and talk with a few of the Space Exhibitors on site.
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Day two of the 2023 Space Port Area Conference for Educators, The Astronauts Memorial Foundation Executive Director/CEO Thad Altman sat down with the Friday Night Locker Room’s Steve Wilson. Altman talked about the importance of the Foundation, the conference, and much more in this exclusive interview.

The Astronauts Memorial Foundation was formed after the Space Shuttle Challenger accident in 1986.

Prior to that, there was no central location for those to gather, honor and memorialize space explorers that made the ultimate sacrifice.

Altman beams with pride when he talks about the Foundation and the Center for Space Education, which is where this week’s conference is being held.

Altman said, this is where “we are launching the next generation to other planets and other solar systems and beyond.” said Altman. “Just to be a part of the space program is an incredible experience.”

Day Two of the conference included space exhibitors, classroom sessions, and a tour of the Kennedy Space Center.
