COCOA BEACH POLICE: Man Dies of Injuries In Hospital After Possible Drowning Incident Near Lori Wilson Park

POLICE: VICTIM IDENTIFIED AS Ronald Lewis Bailey Jr., 66, of Orlando

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – Ronald Lewis Bailey Jr., 66, of Orlando succumbed to his injuries at the hospital after being removed from the ocean near Lori Wilson Park in Cocoa Beach.
“At 7:01 p.m. on Sunday, July 2, Cocoa Beach emergency responders were dispatched and responded to Lori Wilson Park, 1500 North Atlantic Avenue Cocoa Beach in response to a possible drowning,” said Cocoa Beach Police Detective Sergeant Thomas Cooper in a release.
“Upon arrival, several citizens were in the process of removing a white male from the ocean. Law Enforcement was able to fully remove the victim from the water and life saving measures were initiated. The victim was immediately transported to a local area hospital.”
Sgt. Cooper said upon the Bailey’s arrival at the hospital, and despite further medical intervention, the victim succumbed to his injury.
