Eastern Florida State Women’s Tennis Qualifies for NJCAA Division I National Tournament

Titans are ranked 5th in the ITA Junior College national ranking

The Eastern Florida State College women’s tennis team has qualified for the NJCAA Division I National Tournament. The Titans, who are ranked fifth in the ITA Junior College national rankings, finished third in the Region 8 Championships last weekend and will now turn their attention to the national tournament from May 4-8 in Tyler, Texas. BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College women’s tennis team has qualified for the NJCAA Division I National Tournament.

The Titans, who are ranked fifth in the ITA Junior College national rankings, finished third in the Region 8 Championships last weekend and will now turn their attention to the national tournament from May 4-8 in Tyler, Texas.

The duo of Elena Martinez Prado and Sara Ladino won the Region 8 title in No. 3 doubles while the team of Emma Sanchez and Lucia Lucas lost in the final at No. 1 doubles.

In Singles, Maria Gento reached the final in No. 4 singles, falling in the championship match.

Nationally, Martinez Prado is ranked seventh in the nation in singles with Emma Sanchez ranked 18th.
