Former Cocoa Tiger, Current FSU Track Star Liana Tyson Hits Consecutive Career Best in 100m

TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA – Former Cocoa Tiger, and current Florida State track star Liana Tyson hit two consecutive career bests in the 100m in the Seminole’s last two meets, with her recent lifetime best at 11.50.
FSU freshman Tyson has also been the lead-off leg for the Noles 4×100 relay team is currently ranked seventh in the nation and ties for the seventh-fastest time in FSU history at 43.33.
Freshman Season (2024): Placed second in the 60m (7.45) at the Jimmy Carnes Invitational…Placed second in the prelims of the 60 (7.38) at the RAAD Sports Invitational..Finished fifth in the 60 with a lifetime best (7.35) and 11th with a personal best in the 200 (24.57) at the Lenny Lyles Invitational..Placed 19th in the prelim in the 60 (7.39) at the Lenny Lyles Invitational.. Finished sixth in the 60 (7.38) at the ACC Championship.
At Cocoa High School, Tyson became one of the most highly accomplished track and field athletes in Brevard County history after winning the 100 and 200-meter sprint races. She was a 5x FSHAA State Champion in the 100m 2021-22.. 4×100 relay 2022-23 and 200m. Set two new personal best in the 100m and 200m at the 2023 FSHAA 2A Track and Field State Championship. Four first place finishes at the 2023 FSHAA 2A District 8 meet.
