WATCH: Sheriff’s High Intensity Target – 22 arrested at BCSO High Intensity Target List home at 431 Peachtree Street in Cocoa, better known as “The Compound,” where in the past 72 months Brevard County Sheriff’s Deputies have responded and handled more than 270 calls for service for everything from disturbances, aggravated assaults, battery, false imprisonment, sexual assaults, prostitution, drug activity, overdoses, wanted fugitives, burglary investigations, and even, suspected human trafficking.
SHERRIFF WAYNE IVEY: Over the last 6 years, BCSO Deputies have responded to more than 270 calls for service at the property for battery, sexual assaults, overdoses, prostitution, and even suspected human trafficking.
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – As most people in Brevard County are well aware, once you make the Sheriff’s High Intensity Target List (I’ll let you do the acronym) you can go ahead and get ready to hear the sound of glass breaking as you have your front door kicked in and then get cuffed, stuffed, and dragged to “Ivey’s Iron Bar Lodge” for every single law you broke.
To make the Sheriff’s High Intensity Target List all you have to do is have an address where people are allowed to continually break the law, act like criminals, sell drugs, do drugs, and of course, steal other people’s crap all while annoying your neighbors who have to repeatedly call the Sheriff’s Office because a collection of thug neighbors can’t seem to obey the law.
You know, a place like 1431 Peachtree Street in Cocoa, better known as “The Compound,” where in the past 72 months our Deputies have responded and handled more than 270 calls for service for everything from disturbances, aggravated assaults, battery, false imprisonment, sexual assaults, prostitution, drug activity, overdoses, wanted fugitives, burglary investigations, and even, suspected human trafficking.
Of course, many of the calls for service resulted in repeated arrests and then like all too often happens, they end up right back out on the street and we have to deal with them all over again.
Well, yesterday morning we tore their little playhouse down when S.W.A.T. Teams from the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, Titusville Police Department, and Cocoa Police Department executed a search warrant at the compound and pretty much kicked in every door they could find as we started flushing out the cesspool by arresting 22 of the 41 people at the compound and then nailing a big “Closed” sign on the gate as the property was deemed unsafe and condemned!
The condemned part came with the help of our friends and partners at Brevard County Code Enforcement, the Brevard County Property Appraiser’s Office, and the Brevard County Health Department as the entire property, including the various camper trailers, huts, and whatever else was there, were a disgusting mess that I wouldn’t let a pet rock live in.
With that thought in mind, the agencies all worked together to condemn the property so no one else can live there and if they show back up they will face additional issues.
The good news folks…since the thugs no longer have a place to live we have plenty of vacancies at “Ivey’s Iron Bar Lodge” so they can get new roommates, showers, and of course some of the worst jail food ever.
The various charges were for active warrants, drug possession, resisting arrest, and of course violation of probation charges because let’s be honest, that’s what our criminal justice system does…it puts repeat offenders back out on the street on probation so they can offend again and then be put on “double secret probation” and then violate again so they can get arrested over and over!
A huge thank you to our BCSO Special Investigations Unit, K-9 Unit, Motor Unit, Investigative Agents, Crime Scene, Animal Services, Titusville Police Department, Cocoa Police Department, Palm Bay Police Department, Florida Department of Corrections Probation, Drug Enforcement Administration, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Brevard County Planning and Development/Zoning, Building Inspectors, Brevard County Code Enforcement, Brevard County Property Appraiser, and Brevard County Health Department for all they did to make yesterday’s search warrant and investigation a success.
Please welcome our newest guests to “Ivey’s Iron Bar Lodge” as they qualified for a special group rate that includes unlimited tennis court reservations…oops sorry read that wrong, it’s unlimited criminal court appearances as well as reservations for dining in our open dining hall, limited recreational yard time, unlimited communal shower, and always a guest favorite…a free “I Messed Around and Found Out” T-Shirt at check-out time!
