Rockledge Regional Medical Center Earns “A” Grade For Excellence in Patient Care

Rockledge Regional Medical Center, a Steward Family Hospital, earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog that sets standards for excellence in patient care. Grading is based on over 30 national performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries, and infections, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm.

Rockledge, Florida (May 1, 2024) –Rockledge Regional Medical Center, a Steward Family Hospital, earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog that sets standards for excellence in patient care.  Twice a year, Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 national performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries, and infections, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm.

“Today’s recognition from The Leapfrog Group reinforces our past achievements and highlights the consistent focus of our teams on high quality patient centered outcomes,” said Tom Bowden, President of Rockledge Regional Medical Center. “The physicians and staff at Rockledge Regional are members of the Brevard County community and have a strong commitment to providing the very best care to their friends, family, and neighbors. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program exclusively based on hospital prevention of medical errors, infections and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day nationally. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually in the fall and spring.
